Job summary

Louisiana Bridge Builders is seeking a Carpenter I to support the Lake Charles project, performing formwork, measuring, cutting, and assembling materials in accordance with plans and specifications.

You will work with a team on wood and concrete structures, install anchors and reinforcing components, and help pour and finish concrete. Safety, quality, and flexibility are essential as you contribute to the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge program.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant construction experience.
• Proven knowledge of tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and use tape measures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with wood, concrete, and other materials formwork.
• Assist with measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood, plywood, and other materials.
• Assist in building, setting, and removing concrete forms and placing concrete.
• Assist with installation of anchors, bolts, and reinforcing components for roadway structures.

• Maintain a clean and safe worksite and perform other duties as assigned.

Louisiana Bridge Builders (LBB) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY

The Carpenter I is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by assisting in the constructing, installing, repairing, and removal of structures and fixtures for the Project.

LOCATION

This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.

PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with wood, concrete, and other materials formwork.
• Assist with measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood, plywood, and other materials according to plans and specifications.
• Assist in building, setting, and removing concrete forms and placing concrete for structures.
• Assist with the installation of anchors, bolts, and reinforcing components for roadway structures.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely.
• Assist with concrete pouring and finishing process.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and complies with construction codes.
• Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
• Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
