Job summary

PeopleReady of Winter Haven, FL is seeking skilled Carpenters to join our team. This position offers 1st shift (Day) and 3rd shift (Night) options with next-day pay for many openings.

You will cut and assemble wood and related materials, read blueprints, and verify measurements on varied residential or commercial projects. A background check and drug test are required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in residential or commercial carpentry preferred.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Use various tools to cut and craft wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
• Employ hand tools such as squares, levels, and chisels, and power tools like sanders, circular saws, nail guns, and welding machines.
• Fasten materials together using nails, screws, staples, and adhesives, and perform a final check to ensure accuracy.
• Use a tape measure on nearly every project to reduce waste and ensure that cut pieces are the correct size.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $18 - $18 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Carpenter:

• Use various tools to cut and craft wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall
• Employ hand tools such as squares, levels, and chisels, and power tools like sanders, circular saws, nail guns, and welding machines

Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day), 3rd Shift (Night)

Job Requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
• 2-5 years of experience in residential or commercial carpentry preferred
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to read blueprints
• Capable of repeatedly lifting 50 pounds to load and unload wood and other materials, as well as transport tools and materials to and from the jobsite
• Background check and drug test required
