Job summary

Drexel Building Supply is seeking a framing crew carpenter for projects around West Bend, WI. This role involves rough framing, panelized wall setup, and coordination with a manufacturing plant as needed.

Travel within a 1+ hour radius is common, and candidates should read plans, measure precisely, and maintain site safety. Ideal applicants have 1–3 years in framing or related construction, a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One to three years of framing/construction experience preferred.
• Must be able to use power tools, tape measure, read instructions, and communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and lift 5–100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Rough framing of residential and commercial projects.
• Setting panels, floors, trusses and roofs; erecting scaffolding and ladders.
• Reading building plans and measuring cut lines.
• Shaping or cutting materials with hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Maintaining a clean work environment on sites and in vehicles.
• Safe operation of tools and adherence to safety programs.

Job description

We are looking for our next Framing Crew Carpenter for projects in and around the West Bend area (within a 1+ hour travel radius). Join our dynamic off-site construction team!

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Rough framing of both residential and commercial projects. Setting of panelized walls, floors, trusses and roofs.

Erecting and working on scaffolding and climbing ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.

Measuring and marking cut lines on materials using a tape measure, ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.

Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines and/or power saws.

Able to read building plans.

Keeping a clean work environment includes job sites, company vehicles, and job trailers.

Must be comfortable working in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.

Crane signaling.

Utilizing common carpenter skills.

Working in the manufacturing plant as needed.

Completing all required safety programs and following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED.

One to three years of experience in framing, construction, installing doors/windows, building materials, or similar industry preferred.

Requires ordinary ambulatory skills; stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate weights of 5-100lbs.

Must be able to use power tools, tape measure, read and understand work instructions, materials, and communicate with customers, co-workers, and contractors to ensure excellent customer service.

Requires great hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity.

Valid Wisconsin Driver's License
