Puyallup School District is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter for facilities. The role supports maintenance and operations with a Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM schedule (30-minute unpaid meal), 260-day calendar. Internal bidding for internal candidates is noted, with external applicants considered after internal process.

A high school diploma and WA driver’s license are required. Experience in glazing, roofing, cabinetry, and related trades is preferred.

• Journeyman level carpenter with five years recent, successful experience in private enterprise or government agencies.
• Knowledge in glazing, roofing, locksmith, painting, cabinetry, etc.
• Must have valid Washington State Driver's License, plus CPR and First Aid certification.

Experience Requirements

Journeyman level carpenter with knowledge in other areas (e.g., glazing, roofing, locksmith, painting, cabinetry, etc.) preferred. Applicant must have five years recent, successful, working experience in private enterprise or government agencies as a Journeyman Carpenter. Candidate must attain a combined 70% on the scored interview questions, practical essay, and resume review to be deemed to have met the minimum qualifications for the position.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical training at a vocational/technical school in specific trade area may substitute for up to two years of experience.
