Job summary

Icon Fitness in Washington, DC seeks a full-time carpenter to perform general carpentry tasks across facilities. You will repair/replace windows, doors, floors, ceilings, jambs, cabinets, countertops, and screens, plus minor plastering and finishing work.

The role includes flooring installs, locksmith responses, and maintaining life-sustainment systems. Strong blueprint literacy and ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in general carpentry, construction, or maintenance (residential, commercial, or industrial).
• Knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
• Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively in high-priority or emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry tasks including repair and replacement of windows, doors, floors, ceilings, and jambs.
• Repair and install kitchen cabinets, countertops, wallpaper, and porch screens.
• Conduct minor plaster repairs, touch-up painting, and finishing work.
• Install and repair flooring types including carpet, ceramic tile, and vinyl.
• Respond to locksmith service calls and replace name signs as needed.
• Maintain life-sustainment systems and basic plumbing, electrical components, appliances, and storm drains.
• Interpret blueprints and work orders to complete projects accurately.
• Respond to emergency service calls within required timeframes.
