Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking experienced Carpenters for work in the Kingsport, TN area. This role involves constructing, erecting, installing, fabricating, dismantling and repairing structures, formwork and fixtures from wood and metal as per drawings and plans.

Essential qualifications include a high school diploma, 1–4 years of experience, and basic tool knowledge; NCCER certification may be required at some sites. Safety, drug screens, and policy compliance are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints or plans to determine material requirements and fabrication layouts.
• Assemble and install wood/metal structures, formwork, fixtures and related components.
• Fabricate and erect framework, stairs, floors, doors, trims, and other fixtures.
• Set concrete formwork, ladders and scaffolding; load and transport materials as needed.
• Follow drawings and plans to ensure accurate installation and safety compliance.

Turner Industries Group is looking for experienced Carpenters for work in the Kingsport, TN area. This position constructs, erects, installs, fabricates, dismantles and repairs structures, formwork and fixtures of wood, metal forms and associated accessories.

Essential Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• NCCER certification may be required at some job sites
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements

Studies blueprints, sketches or structural plans for information pertaining to the type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated; selects specified types of lumber or other materials; prepares layouts including lines and grades; marks cutting and assembly lines on materials; shapes materials to prescribed measurements; assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together; erects framework for structures and lays sub-flooring; builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions and cabinet work; covers sub-floor with building paper to keep out moisture and lays hardwood, parquet and wood-strip-block floors; fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, door frames, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware such as locks, letter drops and kick plates; constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete; erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures below ground, at ground level or above ground level; fabricates from work then loads, hauls, and carries it to the job site and installs per drawings, sketches or plans; places and finishes concrete in formwork and sets and aligns form panels; sets grout forms for epoxy and cement grout.

Physical Involvement
