Job summary

Centric Projects is seeking a Carpenter to perform field labor during construction on Crossroads projects in Kansas City. You will layout materials per blueprints, assist with coordination among trades, and maintain a tidy, safe job site while using hand and power tools.

The position requires basic carpentry skills, OSHA-10 certification within 30 days, and a valid driver’s license, with a commitment to team success and safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • OSHA-10 certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Two years of construction-related work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic labor and/or carpentry tasks at a job site.
  • Measures, marks, and arranges materials per blueprints.
  • Assist in solving layout conflicts and coordination with other trades.
  • Maintain a construction site that is well-organized and clear of debris.
  • Load and unload construction materials to support progress.
  • Use hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
  • Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
  • Operate light industrial equipment as directed by onsite management.
  • Erects and dismantles scaffolding.
  • Installs windows and doors.
  • Follow safety regulations to ensure tasks are completed safely.

Position Objective

The Carpenter position performs various field labor tasks during the construction phase of Crossroads Construction projects.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform basic labor and/or carpentry tasks at a job site or in regard to a special project assignment
  • Measures, marks, and arranges materials to layout based on blueprints or instructions from the supervisor
  • Assists in solving problems related to layout, conflicts, coordination with other trades, and prefabricated panel system installation.
  • Maintain a construction site that is well-organized and clear of debris
  • Load and unload construction materials to assist in job site progress
  • Use various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects
  • Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive
  • Utilize light industrial equipment to complete larger labor tasks as directed by the onsite Superintendent or other members of field management
  • Erects and dismantles scaffolding
  • Installs windows and doors
  • Utilize knowledge of all local, state, and federal safety regulations to ensure labor tasks are completed in a safe manner
Qualifications and Requirements
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • OSHA-10 certification is required within 30 days of employment
  • Two (2) years of previous work experience in a construction-related field

  • Ability to understand directions and read blueprints
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade
  • Works well as part of a team

  • Strong initiative and is able to accomplish tasks with minimal manager supervision
