Job summary

360 Fire & Flood in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join the team. The candidate should have experience in drywall, rough framing, window and door installation, trim, flooring, finish carpentry, and related repair work.

Duties include reading blueprints, assisting with design and layout, measuring materials, installing fixtures, ensuring code compliance, and providing reliable customer service. Weekend overtime and on-call rotation may be required.

Qualifications

• Carpentry: 2 years minimum experience.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
• Assist supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
• Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.
• Assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
• Operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and health and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
• Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
• Be willing to learn new tasks/jobs.
• Be available to work overtime and weekends, and participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.

About the role

360 Fire & Flood is looking to an experienced Carpenter to the team. The ideal candidate would have experience in: Drywall work, rough framing, window and door install, trim install, drywall finish, flooring, kitchen install, finish carpentry, demo work, mold remediation, water damage repair.

What you’ll do

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
• Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
• Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.
