Job summary

PROENERGY is seeking a skilled crates and packaging technician responsible for creating, wrapping and boxing materials for storage or transport, ensuring asset protection and safe loading. The role reports to the Logistics Manager and operates at the Sedalia, MO facility as part of a growing manufacturing team.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of carpentry experience, with stable work history and US work authorization.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Fabricates wooden crates, boxes, platforms per instructions and customer requirements.
  • Uses woodworking hand tools and powered tools to pack items.
  • Operates common carpentry tools on-site and in-shop with safety procedures.
  • Saws materials to size using handsaws and power saws.
  • Assembles materials with nails, staples, screws, glue, and hand tools.
  • Packages materials per customer requirements, including heat shrinking and vacuum packing.
  • Attaches identification labels per customer requirements.

Position Summary

This position is responsiblefor crating, wrapping or packaging materials and equipment for storage and/or transportation, using various materials to ensure asset protection, and safely loading those materials.

Reports To: Logistics Manager

Work Location: 2001 Proenergy Blvd, Sedalia, MO 65301

PositionResponsibilities
  • Fabricates wooden crates, boxes, platforms, multi-slot crates per instructions and customer requirements.
  • Utilizes woodworking hand tools and powered tools, and packs such items as hardware, parts, large or odd-shaped material.
  • Operates hand, shop tools and powered equipment common to carpentry trade while observing safety procedures and practices common to carpentry work on-site and in-shop.
  • Saws materials to size using handsaws and power saws.
  • Assembles materials, using nailing or stapling machine, screws, bolts, glue, and hand tools.
  • Places product in crate/container verifying piece quantity and proper nomenclature.
  • Secures heavy pieces to bottom of container or skid.
  • Wraps and pads product with packaging material.
  • Builds crate around large or odd shaped articles.
  • Wraps and tightens metal bands around crate, using banding equipment.
  • Estimates material requirements from drawings, blueprints, or written instructions.
  • Package per customer requirements; crating heat shrinking, vacuum pack to ensure material integrity for transportation.
  • Attaches identification labels or stencils as required per customer requirements with type of product contained in crate.
  • Counts items to be packed to ensure compliance with shipping orders.
  • Verifies weight and dimensions for shipping.
  • Transports crates/container to the shipping area.
  • Transports materials and supplies to crating area.
  • Assists in ordering, receiving, and recording of lumber for inventory per IPSM regulations and WPM Audit.
  • Assists in offloads of trucks operating appropriate equipment to accomplish in a safe and secure manner as needed.
  • Performs all other duties and task assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of carpentry experience; or equivalent experience in lieuof education
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience of using hand and power tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, saws and nail guns
  • Must be a team player.
  • Previous experience operating various size forklifts and other powered material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strict adherence to safety rules and protocols.
