Amtrak in Boston is seeking skilled rail equipment technicians to inspect, test, and maintain wheels sets, brakes, and suspension systems as per FRA and Amtrak standards. You will diagnose failures using test equipment and perform repairs on doors, interiors, and safety components.
The role requires high school completion, knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and ability to read drawings. Welding may be required, and a pre-employment background check applies.
Responsible for inspection, testing and maintenance of wheels sets, brakes, brake pads, repairing suspension and pneumatic systems on rolling stock equipment and components in accordance with FRA and Amtrak standards and guidelines.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
The hourly rate is $28.88 - $38.51 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment).
