Job summary

Carmel Oaks Retirement Community, a Transforming Age community located in Lakewood, CO, is hiring a Maintenance Technician. The role offers $30 per hour, full-time benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement, plus generous PTO and other perks.

Primary duties include routine maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems, with daily rounds and emergency response as needed. Join a nonprofit focused on aging well.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years of age with the ability to read, write and speak English.
• Formal training in vocational school or trade apprenticeship program preferred but not required.
• A minimum of 1 years building maintenance work experience.
• Completion of a background check, may include other pre screening requirements such as a drug screen, physical, TB test, and fingerprinting per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include, plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepare and organize materials and equipment before starting a task.
• Report equipment/items to supervisor that need repair immediately.
• Responds to occasional building emergencies as needed by the supervisor.
• Report all incidents/accidents to supervisor.
• Perform daily rounds and check of various systems as assigned, including related record keeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements Include

• Ability to work in different physical positions to complete tasks, while providing a variety of physically demanding maintenance-related tasks inside and outside the building.
• Must have good manual dexterity and the ability to work with tools and equipment.
• May need to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
