Job summary

Mexico Central School District seeks an hourly School Bus Aide for the Bus Garage (Transportation Department). The role assists the School Bus Driver with loading/unloading, seating, and supervising students during transportation and transit.

Minimum qualifications include NYSED and Civil Service requirements, fingerprint clearance, and basic behavior management skills. This is a 10-month, approximately 20-hour per week position with $16.00 per hour, benefits eligibility per CSEA contract.

Qualifications

• Must meet NYSED and Civil Service requirements for School Bus Aide.
• Ability to manage student behavior.
• Fingerprint clearance through NYSED is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and seat passengers while the bus is in motion.
• Assist students boarding/exiting and with seating.
• Aid disabled or special needs students to board and sit.
• Assist with safety equipment and restraining devices.
• Deliver incident log and report to bus driver.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Superintendent.
