Job summary

Riverdale Presbyterian Church is seeking a caring Nursery Worker to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children ages 0-3 during Sunday School and worship. You will help with feeding, diaper changes, naps, and gentle supervision in a welcoming setting.

The role emphasizes reliability, patience, and clear communication with parents and volunteers. Prior child care experience is preferred; Riverdale can assist with background clearances and CPR certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and a high school graduate.
• At least two years of experience caring for children ages 0-3.
• Background clearances required; Riverdale can assist with obtaining them.
• Friendly, dependable, patient, and comfortable caring for young children.
• Preferred: CPR certification and knowledge of child development.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, attentive, and age-appropriate care for children ages 0-3.
• Engage children through play, stories, games, and prayer.
• Assist with feeding, diaper changes, bathroom needs, and naps as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming nursery environment.
• Ensure children are released only to an approved parent or responsible adult.
• Communicate with parents, volunteers, and church staff as needed.
• Provide advance notice of absences or lateness whenever possible.
