Job summary

Mennonite Memorial Home – Maple Crest (MHCO) is hiring a Food Service Aide to support meal service, maintain cleanliness, and meet elders’ dietary needs. You will assist with serving, set up dining areas, transport items, and ensure food safety while working within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Willingness to care for older adults and commitment to the organization’s mission.
• Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and kitchen equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to move quickly and effectively between tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to elders following dietary guidelines and portion control.
• Set up dining areas with dishes, utensils, and condiments in a welcoming environment.
• Transport food and supplies using carts (up to 200 lbs) and maintain proper food temperatures.
• Clean and sanitize dining areas, wipe tables, remove trash, sweep floors.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or dishwasher.
• Handle and store food and supplies per safety guidelines.
• Deliver soiled dining linens to the laundry.
