Job summary

The Waters of Smyrna is seeking a Dietary Aide to support safe, timely meal service for residents in our senior healthcare facility. You will help set up dining areas, assist with meal preparation under the direction of the dietary manager or cook, and keep kitchens and dining rooms clean and organized.

This role emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and teamwork; candidates should be able to stand for long periods and follow food-safety procedures while delivering warm, respectful service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food-service or healthcare is helpful but not required.
• Ability to follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Friendly attitude and good communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting, bending, and carrying items.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables and dining areas, ensuring they are clean, organized, and ready for meals.
• Assist with meal preparation by following instructions from the dietary manager or cook.
• Clear tables after meals and collect dishes, utensils, and other dining items.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, silverware, cookware, and food-service equipment.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, food stations, and dining areas.
• Dispose of food waste, remove trash, and properly store clean dishes and equipment.
• Monitor food and ingredient supplies and report low inventory as needed.
• Help maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
• Work cooperatively with dietary and kitchen staff to provide efficient, high-quality meal service.
