Job summary

Jefferies Financial Group in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Data Domain Architect – Senior Associate to modernize the finance data environment, deliver regulatory results, and reduce manual processes within Wealth Management. You will lead data domain design, collaborate with IT, and enable insights with ThoughtSpot, Tableau, and Spark SQL.

This role requires strong analytics, data modeling, and experience delivering process improvements in financial reporting environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS, Finance, Accounting, or related field with relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in data analytics, architecture, or financial reporting systems.
  • Experience with BI analytic and data wrangling tools such as Alteryx, SAS, or Python.
  • Experience with relational databases, optimizing SQL to pull and summarize large datasets.
  • Data quality management, profiling, cleansing, and validation to maintain data integrity.
  • Domain knowledge in the relevant financial services industry.
  • Proven ability delivering process improvement or automation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; self-motivated and curious.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to transformation and modernization of data environment for analytics and reporting.
  • Lead requirements sessions and plan projects using JIRA with leadership.
  • Design and deliver data domains into the Finance Data Mart for finance reporting.
  • Source and maintain financial and operational data for wealth management reporting.

  • Develop data wrangling workflows and visualization solutions with ThoughtSpot, Tableau.
  • Migrate solutions to production and act as SME/escalation for deployments.
  • Collaborate with end-users/IT during UAT to validate production results.

Job Summary

Are you a skilled data professional with a passion to transform raw data into actionable insights? The Finance Data & Insights Team, part of our Consumer and Community Banking division, is responsible for developing, producing, and transforming financial data and reporting across Consumer and Community Banking. As a Data Domain Architect – Senior Associate, you will play a key role in delivering monthly internal, external, and regulatory financial results for our Wealth Management line of business, eliminating manual processes, collaborating with IT partners, and modernizing our data environment on a cloud platform.

Job Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the transformation and modernization of our data environment to serve the analytical and reporting needs of the CCB WM Finance Organization.
  • Lead intelligence solution requirements gathering sessions with varying levels of leadership and complete detailed project planning utilizing JIRA.
  • Partner with the Technology Team to design and deliver data domains into the Finance Data Mart, bringing together essential data categories for finance reporting.
  • Source and maintain the financial and operational data required to transform and maintain the Wealth Management reporting.
  • Conduct detailed reconciliation of results between data systems and business intelligence tools.
  • Partner in the development of data wrangling workflows and data visualization solutions using ThoughtSpot, Tableau, and other end‑user reporting interfaces to provide intuitive insights to stakeholders.
  • Work with IT to migrate solutions to production and serve as SME/escalation point for deployed solutions.
  • Work closely with end-users/IT during the UAT phase to validate that production results comply with business requirements.
  • Provide a high level of responsiveness to ad‑hoc requests, “what‑if” scenario data analytics, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Develop expertise in the financial reporting platforms and support data analysis requests.
  • Become a subject matter expert in these responsibilities and support team members in becoming more proficient.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or related field with relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in data analytics, architecture, or financial reporting systems.
  • Experience with business intelligence analytic and data wrangling tools such as Alteryx, SAS, or Python.
  • Experience with relational databases, optimizing SQL to pull and summarize large datasets, report creation, and ad‑hoc analyses.
  • Data Quality Management: Understanding of strategies and tools for data profiling, cleansing, and validation to maintain high data quality.
  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the specific industry or business domain in which the organization operates.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering process improvement or automation.
  • Highly motivated, self‑directed, curious to learn new technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability.
  • Experience in reporting development and testing, and ability to interpret unstructured data and draw objective inferences given known limitations of the data.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with data management, data lineage, data dictionaries, and making data discoverable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Hive, Spark SQL, Impala, or other big‑data query tools.
  • Experience with ThoughtSpot.
  • Experience with AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, or other cloud data warehouse platforms.
  • Hyperion Essbase cube design and administration experience.
  • Experience eliminating user tools, saving time, and increasing insight generation through data dashboards and new capabilities.
  • Proficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel).
Additional Information

This role does not have a relocation allowance tied to it. All candidates must be local to the Jersey City, NJ office or willing to relocate on their own immediately upon hiring. Candidates must be able to physically work in our Jersey City, NJ office 3 days a week and remotely from home 2 days per week. The specific schedule will be determined by direct management. #LI‑HYBRID
