Job summary

Dnata in Dallas, TX, seeks a Cargo Service Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day cargo operations, supervise Cargo Service Agents, and ensure safe, secure, compliant movement of cargo for airline customers.

You will coordinate with airline representatives, drivers, and ground handling partners, monitor performance, provide coaching, and support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in air cargo, logistics, ground handling, or a related operational environment.
  • Previous supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, direct operational activities, and resolve complex operational and customer service issues.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, employee coaching, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of cargo handling procedures, customs reporting requirements, airline documentation standards, and operational control processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, cargo management systems, and customs interface systems.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, allocate resources effectively, and perform in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as operationally required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily cargo operations to ensure safe, secure, efficient, and compliant service in accordance with company, airline, customer safety, security, customs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assign, prioritize, and direct the work of Cargo Service Agents and operational personnel to ensure appropriate staffing, shift coverage, and timely completion of operational requirements.
  • Monitor workflow, operational demands, service levels, and performance metrics, making real-time adjustments and corrective actions to maintain efficiency and customer service standards.
  • Lead, coach, support, and motivate team members to promote productivity, accountability, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee shipment processing, documentation review, cargo management system activity, customs reporting, load planning, manifest preparation, inventory control, and flight departure support.
  • Coordinate with airline representatives, customers, drivers, warehouse personnel, ground handling partners, and regulatory authorities to support the efficient movement of cargo.
  • Investigate, document, and resolve shipment discrepancies, customs exceptions, service failures, operational irregularities, safety or security concerns, and escalated customer issues.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of cargo documentation, operational reports, customs filings, inventory records, system entries, training records, and compliance documentation.

Job description

The Cargo Service Supervisor oversees the day-to-day cargo operations of the station to ensure the safe, secure, e8icient, and compliant movement of cargo on behalf of airline customers. The role provides direct supervision of Cargo Service Agents and other operational personnel, assigns and coordinates work activities, monitors operational performance, and ensures compliance with company, airline, customer safety, security, customs, and regulatory requirements. The Supervisor is accountable for operational execution, service performance, employee development, and regulatory compliance while supporting customer and business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily cargo operations to ensure safe, secure, e8icient, and compliant service in accordance with company, airline, customer safety, security, customs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assign, prioritize, and direct the work of Cargo Service Agents and operational personnel to ensure appropriate sta8ing, shift coverage, and timely completion of operational requirements.

  • Conduct employee briefings, provide on-the-job training, support new hire onboarding, and promote ongoing employee development.
  • Address performance and attendance matters through coaching, corrective feedback, documentation, performance evaluations, and support for disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, regulatory inspections, operational observations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management in support of operational and business requirements.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required security clearances and Airport ID.
