JOB DESCRIPTION:

Aging Kingdom caregivers provide service to individuals in their own homes and communities who need assistance caring for themselves as a result of old age, sickness, disability, and/or other inflictions. Personal Care may include assistance with activities of daily living, housecleaning, laundry, meal preparation, transportation, companionship, and respite.

Responsible for ensuring service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies and industry standards.

Qualifications & Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• One year full-time experience in personal care or an institutional setting, such as a hospital or nursing home, or within the last five years in direct client care in a home care agency setting; or

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal hygiene assistance
• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation
• Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to do so successfully
• Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Other duties as assigned

Ability to:

• Perform tasks involving activity, including heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing.
• Deal effectively with stress.
• Work assigned hours per week.
• Bend and stand an average of six hours per day.
• Lift up to 50+ pounds.
• Work in a stressful environment.
• Drive up to 50+ miles per day.
