Job summary

Right at Home Iowa City is seeking Caregivers, CNAs, and HHAs to provide compassionate in-home care. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, meals, light housekeeping, errands, and transportation to appointments.

We value reliability, empathy, and a driver's license. Training is provided, with flexible scheduling and ongoing opportunities to grow within a nationwide home care company with over 25 years of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English for the job.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs without assistance.
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care activities to assist with activities of daily living.
• Assist with transferring/moving the client in the home.
• Perform housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, laundry, dishes and cleaning.
• Prepare meals and snacks per instructions.
• Accompany client to errands or medical appointments.
• Assist with medication reminders and exercise as directed.
• Provide dementia care and companionship activities.

Responsibilities and Duties

In this role, you will have the chance to perform personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living, which include (but are not limited to):

• Assisting with transferring/moving client from place to place throughout their home
• Performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom
• Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments
• Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving
• Medication reminders
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Dementia care
• Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
• Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs without assistance
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
• Possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
• Pass a background check
• CNA license, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide certification preferred
