Job summary

Right at Home Prince George's County is seeking compassionate caregivers, CNAs and HHAs to support seniors and adults with disabilities in the home. You will help with daily living activities, provide companionship and ensure safety in a client’s home.

The team emphasizes PPE, competitive pay, flexible scheduling and ongoing training. A background check and valid driver’s license are preferred, with opportunities for advancement within a leading home-care company.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs without assistance
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and proper client transfers/movements
• Perform housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, laundry, dishes and cleaning bathrooms
• Prepare meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompany clients to errands or medical appointments
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and shaving
• Provide medication reminders as prescribed
• Support range of motion exercises
• Offer dementia care and companionship activities such as reading or music

Responsibilities and Duties

In this role, you will have the chance to perform personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living, which include (but are not limited to):

• Assisting with transferring/moving client from place to place throughout their home
• Performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom
• Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments
• Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving
• Medication reminders
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Dementia care
• Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
• Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs without assistance
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
• Possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
• Pass a background check
• CNA license, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide certification preferred
