Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Aides/Medication Technicians (Med Techs) to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents and patients in [nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or specified healthcare settings]. You will assist with daily living activities, administer medications as prescribed, and ensure the highest quality of care and comfort for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents/patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility.
• Administer medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, ensuring accurate dosages and adherence to prescribed schedules.
• Monitor residents’ health status by observing changes in behavior, physical condition, and emotional well-being, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare personnel.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and medications administered in accordance with facility protocols.
• Support residents’ dignity and respect their autonomy while providing personal care and assistance.
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities that enhance social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in resident living areas, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
• Assist with light housekeeping duties related to residents’ care areas, including laundry and tidying up.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education programs as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare or related fields is a plus.
• Valid certification as a Medication Technician or a comparable state certification.
• Previous experience in a caregiving role within a healthcare setting (nursing home, assisted living, hospital) preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, their families, and team members.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, managing tasks and priorities.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare practices.
• Compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to help others.
• Flexible availability, including the willingness to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as required.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift, transfer, and reposition residents as needed, utilizing proper body mechanics.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to grip and manipulate equipment used in providing care.
