Job Description:
As a Caregiver/Home Health Aide (HHA), you will play a pivotal role in offering essential support to clients in their homes. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, providing companionship, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. You will work closely with clients to understand their individual needs and preferences, fostering a trusting relationship that promotes overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, enhancing their social interaction and overall mental health.
- Help clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Monitor and record client’s vital sign's, health status, and behavior changes, reporting any concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean living environment.
- Engage clients in recreational activities and hobbies to promote physical and mental well-being.
- Foster effective communication with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Follow safety protocols and best practices to ensure client safety and well-being.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Home Health Aide preferred.
- Previous experience in a caregiving role or related field is a plus.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and care plans.
- Proficiency in basic healthcare and safety protocols.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client locations.
- Pass background checks and meet any state-specific requirements for HHAs.
