Qualifications
Must either: a) meet State certification for Certified Nursing Assistant or Home Care Aide training program and competency and have a credential that is current and in good standing; or b) have completed the state-required Safety and Orientation training prior to placement, and then complete state certification training and pass the state exam within 120 days, and pass the state exam and receive their license within 200 days, as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities
Understands and adheres to established FirstLight HomeCare - South Sound policies and procedures.
Assist clients with personal hygiene, including shower, tub or bed baths, oral care, hair and skin care.
Assist clients in the use of toilet facilities, including bed pans.
Assist clients in and out of bed, excluding the use of mechanical lifting equipment unless trained and documented as competent.
Assist clients with walking, including the use of walkers and wheelchairs, when applicable.
Assist clients with self-administration of medications (medication assistance level 2).
Meal preparation and feeding, when required.
Ambulates and exercises the client as assigned.
Provide companionship to client.
Prepare and serve meals and/or snacks.
Provide grooming and dressing guidance.
Provide light housekeeping.
Provide laundry and linen service to include washing, ironing and folding clothes.
Provide shopping service to client to include grocery and clothes shopping.
Provide incidental transportation for client which includes visits to doctor appointments, friends, family members, or stores.
Provide assistance and planning of client’s recreational activities and events.
Record and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior or appearance to supervisor or Care Coordinator.
Document services delivered in accordance with FirstLight HomeCare - South Sound policies and procedures.
Attends in-service and continuing education programs as scheduled and necessary.
Attends client care conferences as scheduled.

Ability to participate in physical activity.
Ability to work for extended period of time while standing and being involved in physical activity.

Ability to do extensive bending, lifting and standing on a regular basis.
