Job summary

Catholic Charities - Archdiocese of Hartford is seeking a compassionate direct-support professional to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living, meals, hygiene, transportation and activities. You will document progress, communicate with the care team and support meaningful goals.

The role requires respect for privacy, completion of trainings, and collaboration with management and nursing staff to ensure quality care and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; AA/AS preferred.
• Demonstrates organizational ability and team communication.
• Ability to interact respectfully with individuals served.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support individuals in achieving meaningful goals with the team.
• Plan, purchase and prepare meals according to dietary needs.
• Assist with hygiene, transportation and leisure activities.
• Document data relevant to progress and programs.
• Report incidents and coordinate with supervisor and nurse.
• Attend mandatory trainings and maintain certifications.
