Summary
This position is located at the Fayetteville VA Coastal Health Care System within the Behavioral Health Service Line - Social Work Division. The Caregiver Support Senior Social Worker is responsible for providing clinical evidence-based services and interventions, program development, caregiver and staff education on caregiver issues, community outreach, resource development, continuous quality improvement activities, and evaluation/consultation.

- Basic Requirements:
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA Policy.
- English Language Proficiency
- Education: A master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work (CSWE) is required. Graduates from schools in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work cannot substitute for a master's degree.

- Licensure: Must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's level. Current state requirements can be found at http://vaww.va.gov/OHRM/T38Hybrid/.
- Grade Determinations: For GS-12 level, at least two years of post-licensure experience in a specialized area of social work practice, with one year at the GS-11 level. Must demonstrate advanced practice skills, judgment, and expertise in their area.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated skill in specialized interventions, differential diagnosis, outcome measurement, consultation, policy development, and professional growth.
- Preferred Experience: Experience working in the Caregiver Support Program is preferred.

Duties
- Develop and implement the Caregiver Support Program, ensuring compliance with VA initiatives.
- Evaluate and enhance service quality through information and analytical systems.
- Develop and evaluate clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Conduct caregiver and Veteran assessments, including stress and burden evaluations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on caregiver issues.
- Create educational tools and develop training programs.
- Provide education and in-service training to staff, Veterans, families, and caregivers.
- Support colleagues through consultation on caregiver support.
- Facilitate caregiver support groups and educational programs, including telehealth modalities.
- Distribute educational materials from VA and partner organizations.
- Conduct clinical interventions to address caregiver stress, psychiatric, emotional, and social needs.
- Perform regular home visits, respond to hotline calls, and assist with program tasks.
- Make referrals to VA and community services, including mental health, benefits, and other programs.
- Serve as a consultant for navigating complex interactions with government and community agencies.
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
