Job summary

Easterseals Florida is seeking a part-time Companion Care Specialist to provide presence, kindness, and support to clients. This role offers up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with an hourly pay of $15.

The position emphasizes compassionate care for older adults and individuals with disabilities, light housekeeping, meal prep, and daily activity support in clients' homes or community settings. Experience as a homemaker or caregiver is preferred; driving may be required per program

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as homemaker, companion, caregiver, or respite worker preferred.
• Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities is a plus.
• Caring heart, dependable nature, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to meet approved driver qualifications for driving personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
• Offer respite care to give families and caregivers a break.
• Assist with light housekeeping (laundry, tidying, cleaning living spaces).
• Help with meal preparation and light cooking.
• Support daily routines and meaningful activities.

• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
• Treat every client with dignity, patience, and kindness.
