Job summary

Lutheran SeniorLife in Beaver, PA is seeking a part-time Caregiver for evening shifts (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.). The position offers a $6,000 sign-on bonus to be paid throughout the first year of employment and starts at $17 per hour.

The Caregiver will assist participants with personal care and daily living activities, supporting LIFE and community-based services across western Pennsylvania. Comprehensive benefits and opportunities to promote independence are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent; or 1 year related experience and/or training.
• Must have dependable transportation with a valid driver’s license.
• At least 1 year of experience with the frail or elderly.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with personal care activities and promote increasing self-care.
• Support participants with instrumental activities of daily living and promote independence.

LIFE is a program that serves county residents living in Armstrong, Butler, Beaver and Lawrence Counties. It is an all-inclusive comprehensive program that helps individuals maintain their independence in their home and community through supportive services. The LIFE programs offer an array of person-centered services from medical care to adult day supports with the primary goal of allowing individuals to remain in their own home.

The Caregiver is responsible for assisting participants with all aspects of personal care activities and implementing strategies for promoting increased levels of self-care when possible. Responsible for assisting participants with Instrumental activities of daily living and implementing strategies for promoting increased levels of independence when possible. Responsible to reinforce and comply with all rehab initiatives and clinical modalities.

Qualifications

Caregiver qualifications include:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have dependable transportation with a valid driver’s license in order to visit clients in their homes and other sites.
• At least one (1) year of experience with the frail or elderly.
