Job summary

Interim HealthCare Inc. in Lawrence, Kansas, is seeking a Private Duty Caregiver to help seniors live safely at home. You will provide personal care, companionship, and daily living support, while building strong relationships with clients in a 1:1 setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Six months of healthcare experience preferred.
• CPR certification.
• Valid Kansas driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation.
• Compassionate and helping nature; good communicator; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients with activities that bring joy (puzzles, games, reading, hobbies).
• Provide personal care and support to enable living safely at home.
• Assist with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal prep, shopping, transportation, companionship).
• Assist with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises.
• Provide medication reminders, document condition and notify supervisor of concerns.
• Maintain a safe home environment with clear pathways.

As a Private Duty Caregiver, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies
• Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship

A few must-haves for our Private Duty Caregivers:

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
• CPR certification
• Valid Kansas driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation
• Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
