CNA PROGRAM

Cedarbrook recognizes the benefits of investing in staff development and advancement. In keeping with these objectives, Cedarbrook has partnered with an established C.N.A. training center. To be eligible for the CNA program, you must be employed with Cedarbrook for at least 90 days and in good standing. Cedarbrook covers all costs related to the program and pays employees at their established hourly rate for time spent in the course. Staff who successfully complete their C.N.A. certification will be eligible for any hourly pay differentials being offered to C.N.A.s at the community. If selected for this position, please speak with your immediate supervisor for further information on the program.

Caregiver

Assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs, enabling them to maintain good personal hygiene, carry out activities of daily living, maintain good health, and participate in community activities.

Essential Position Functions

The following duties are typical for this position. This list is not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist residents with personal care, including grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
  • Assist residents to and from dining areas and with meals.
  • Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities.
  • Listen to and understand residents' concerns and report observations to the Director as appropriate.
  • Participate in all in-service programs to enhance abilities.
  • Set a good example for residents and staff through appearance, conduct, and engagement.
  • Maintain compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Understand and implement fire safety and disaster preparedness plans, including evacuation procedures.
  • Be dependable and punctual, meeting schedule requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Health care or nurse’s aide training with a 100-hour nurse’s aide course preferred.
  • One year of nurse’s aide experience preferred.
