Job summary

Clarendale of Algonquin is seeking an outstanding Caregiver to join our team. Our caregivers interact with our senior residents daily to support health and well-being and to create a comforting, engaging environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, dining support, activities, responding to call lights, and communicating with residents and families. The role offers part-time hours, benefits eligibility, and a supportive team in Algonquin, IL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience as a caregiver preferred.
• CNA certification preferred but not required.
• Experience working with senior citizens preferred.
• Compassion and empathy essential.
• Ability to collaborate as part of a care team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care such as dressing, grooming, mobility, bathing, and related tasks.
• Assist residents at mealtimes and coordinate with kitchen staff to meet resident needs.
• Support resident engagement and mental health through planned activities.
• Respond to call lights and emergencies promptly to ensure timely assistance.
• Communicate with residents and families in a positive, caring manner and document shift assignments as required.

We are currently seeking an outstanding Caregiver to join our team. Our caregivers are the primary employees interacting with our senior residents every day to give them a good experience that promotes their health and well-being. Our caregiving team partners with other departments and leadership to resolve resident questions or concerns and to look for ways to continue improving our residents' experience.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities:

• Support resident health by giving them high-quality assistance with personal care tasks including dressing & laundry, grooming, mobility, bathing, shaving, incontinence care, foot care, checking vital signs, and height and weight checks per policy.
• Assist residents at mealtime by encouraging their dining, assisting them with their food, and partnering with kitchen staff to address resident needs.
• Support resident engagement and mental health by providing activities as planned and/or directed.
• Respond to call lights and emergencies promptly to ensure residents receive appropriate help.
• Communicate with residents and their families in a positive way that inspires confidence and security. Collaborate with leadership to resolve any questions or concerns shared by residents or their loved ones.
• Complete accurate documentation for shift assignments as required and comply with all applicable regulations and policies impacting the work.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• One year experience working as a caregiver preferred.
• CNA certification preferred but not required.
• Experience working with senior citizens preferred.
• Passion for helping people with compassion and empathy.
• Ability to collaborate as part of a care team.

Pay range: $18.00/hr - $20.00/hr, depending on experience.

Schedule: Minimum 24 hrs. a week, varied shifts, weekends included.
