Job description

We are looking for compassionate caregivers, CNAs, and/or HHAs to join Village Caregiving's growing team! We offer a competitive wage scale and a W-2 for tax withholding purposes. The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, good customer service skills, and the ability to provide various levels of support to our clients in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

1. Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
2. Offer companionship.
3. Remind clients to take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
4. Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, errands, walks, etc.).
5. Plan and prepare meals.
6. Assist with physical therapy exercises.
7. Perform light housekeeping duties.
8. Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
9. Assist patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks as necessary, to support daily living activities.
10. Use common sense principles.

Qualifications

1. Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and eager to improve and learn new skills.
2. Timeliness and self-discipline.
3. Availability to meet client needs as requested.
4. Dependability.
5. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform related duties physically.
6. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
7. Ability to act compassionately and supportively.
8. Availability to work different shifts, including nights and weekends.
9. Prior experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care (preferred).
10. Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
11. Supportive and compassionate nature.
12. High School Diploma or equivalent.
13. Experience as a Caregiver (preferred).
14. CNA/SRNA/HHA certification or completion of a CNA program (preferred).
15. Take pride in providing high-quality care.
16. Hoyer Lift experience (specific to client).
