We are looking for compassionate caregivers, CNAs, and/or HHAs to join Village Caregiving's growing team! We offer a competitive wage scale and a W-2 for tax withholding purposes. The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, good customer service skills, and the ability to provide various levels of support to our clients in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Offer companionship.
- Remind clients to take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
- Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, errands, walks, etc.).
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Assist with physical therapy exercises.
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
- Assist patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks as necessary, to support daily living activities.
- Use common sense principles.
Qualifications
- Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and eager to improve and learn new skills.
- Timeliness and self-discipline.
- Availability to meet client needs as requested.
- Dependability.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform related duties physically.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to act compassionately and supportively.
- Availability to work different shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Prior experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care (preferred).
- Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
- Supportive and compassionate nature.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as a Caregiver (preferred).
- CNA/SRNA/HHA certification or completion of a CNA program (preferred).
- Take pride in providing high-quality care.
- Hoyer Lift experience (specific to client).
