Job description

The work of a Home Instead Care Professional makes a difference in the life of a senior and in your community.

Home Instead is hiring full or part-time Care Professionals to perform the essential work of keeping an aging adult in your community safe, comfortable, joyful, and at home. Home Instead provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their own homes and meet the challenges of aging with dignity. You can work as few as 4 hours a day, several days a week, up to a full 40-hour work week.

Care Professionals assist in many ways including:

• Companionship, listening, and engaging
• Light housekeeping tasks like vacuuming, dusting, and laundry
• Organizing and preparing meals, grocery shopping, and running errands
• Providing assistance with medication reminders
• Helping with bathing, dressing, and safe transfers in and out of bed

No experience in health care is required to assist seniors with everyday activities of daily living. Home Instead works closely with each Care Professional to provide the training and support needed to feel confident and capable of supporting their clients' individual needs.

Classroom, online, and in-home training and instruction are available to ensure all Care Professionals are confident and educated in working with seniors.

Requirements to be a Care Professional include:

• The ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
• The ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
• Demonstrated reliability and trustworthiness
• Completion of a criminal background check, DMV check, and drug screening
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
• Must be at least 18 years old

We currently have daytime and evening assignments in Allen County and Putnam County.
