Job summary

Safe Harbor Home Care is seeking Personal Care Attendants in San Diego County to provide non-medical in-home care and companionship. The role includes bathing, dressing, grooming, meal prep, light housekeeping, and safe transfers in clients’ homes and communities.

No prior experience is required; training and state certifications are part of onboarding. Flexible shifts and weekly pay are highlighted benefits in a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Clearance verified on the Home Care Aide Registry.
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate.
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents.
• Completed “Criminal Record Statement” (LIC 508).
• Complete “Personnel Record” (LIC 501).
• Complete “Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders” (SOC 341A).
• Minimum of five (5) hours entry-level training prior to presence with client(s).

Responsibilities

• Assist with the activities of daily living and personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, exercising, and toileting.
• Assist with medication reminders and basic housekeeping and meal planning.
• Provide companionship and support to enable clients to remain in their home.
• Ensure care is delivered in a caring, respectful manner per policies and state regulations.

Job Description Summary

Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.

Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
