Avamere at Seaside in Seaside, OR is hiring a Caregiver/Med Tech (PRN). The role involves assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and helping with housekeeping while ensuring resident safety and well-being.

Requirements include caring demeanor, prior memory care or assisted living exposure, CPR/First Aid and Food Handler’s Card certifications, and EMR documentation experience. 18+ and a compassionate team player are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Memory Care Unit or Assisted Living preferred.
• Must obtain/maintain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Must obtain Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience documenting in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including hygiene, mobility, and meals.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Perform housekeeping duties and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Monitor health status and report concerns to clinical staff.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and maintain confidentiality.
• Support orientation of new residents and staff as needed.

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
