Job summary

Stonegate Village Assisted Living & Memory Care is seeking a Caregiver/Med Tech to provide comfort, safety, and supervision for residents while administering medications as prescribed.

The role involves assisting with daily living activities, observing resident changes, and supporting the Life Enrichment program to promote engagement and well-being among residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or obtainable within 30 days.
• Experience in elder care preferred.
• Proficient with basic computer skills and eMAR systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents per physician orders and document completion.
• Review eMAR each shift to ensure timely medication administration.
• Support residents with activities of daily living per service plans.
• Answer call lights, alarms and respond promptly to needs.
• Observe and report changes to Care Coordinator and Director of Resident Care.
• Obtain resident weights and vitals as assigned.
• Assist with meal setup and cleanup as needed.
• Participate in or lead Life Enrichment activities and encourage participation.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for providing comfort, safety and general supervision to residents by assisting them with activities of daily living, administering medications and tending to their individual care needs, while learning their unique preferences and personalities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Administer medications to residents according to physician orders and document completion
• Review eMAR each shift to ensure timely administration of medications and treatments
• Review incoming medication physician orders for accuracy. Update eMAR accordingly
• Partner with residents to provide needed/requested assistance with activities of daily living as outlined in the residents’ service plans
• Answer resident call lights, as well as door and safety alarms promptly
• Observe and report resident behavior and condition changes to Care Coordinator and Director of Resident Care
• Order/re-order medications to ensure adequate supply is available
• Complete daily charting, documentation, and reporting as required
• Obtain resident weights and vitals
• Participate in training new employees as requested
• Clean and disinfect resident rooms, work areas and common spaces according to cleaning schedule
• Clean and disinfect spills and soiled areas as needed or directed
• Assist with meal set up and clean up as needed or requested
• Participate in or lead activities as planned by Life Enrichment. Assist and remind residents to participate in activities
• Promote positive relationships with residents, staff and visitors
• Remain awake and alert while on shift

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education and Experience
High school diploma/GED is required.

Certificates and Licenses
Must have CPR/First Aid certification or obtain within thirty (30) days of hire.

Computer Skills
Must have demonstrable knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office in a Windows environment, with a capacity to master company specific software.

General Working Conditions

This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens.
