Essential Job Functions :
- Assist with simple procedures under the supervision of a nurse, such as range of motion exercises and ambulation support.
- Provide personal care activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene.
- Perform household services essential to health care, like meal preparation, laundry, and light housekeeping.
- Encourage residents to engage in leisure activities and socialize with peers.
- Observe and document residents' health and emotional conditions, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Respond promptly to resident requests and emergency situations.
- Promote a safe environment by following infection control practices and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Assist residents with transportation to appointments and social programs.
- Help residents move safely in and out of beds, chairs, and other mobility aids.
- Support residents in walking with or without self-help devices as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
- Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
- Tactful communication with residents, families, and team members.
- Experience working with elderly, disabled, and emotionally distressed individuals.
- Proficient in English for effective communication.
Education and Experience :
- Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant or a licensed Medication Assistant as per state laws.
- Preferred : 6 months or more of experience in home care, assisted living, or long-term care settings.
