Job summary

Always Family HomeCare is seeking compassionate caregivers to assist an elderly female client returning home from hospital after a hip fracture. You will help with turning in bed, eating, and provide companionship, conversation, and games.

Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel throughout the northern Virginia service area. The role offers an hourly rate of $19 to $22, with time-and-a-half on major holidays, plus referral bonuses and app-based training.

Qualifications

• Two years of caregiver experience.
• CNA license, PCA, or HHA certification required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Current Driver's License.
• Reliable transportation and able to travel in northern Virginia.
• TB test current; immunizations encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Follows RN Supervisor instructions to provide personal assistance.
• Assist with hygiene: bathing, oral care, dressing.
• Help with food preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and dishes.
• Observe safety hazards and report to RN.
• Attend staff meetings and in-services; orientation for new employees.
• Report client complaints to RN Supervisor.
• Document abnormal findings per care plan.

Job Responsibilities

Must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations:

• Follows the instructions of the RN Supervisor in providing personal assistance services.
• Provide assistance with hygiene such as bathing, oral care, and dressing.
• Assist with food preparation; serve food, performs errands, light housekeeping, laundry, wash dishes.
• Observe and report any safety hazards found in the client’s home or any significant observations regarding the client.
• Attend staff meetings, attend/complete 12 hours of annual in-services, and participates in orientation of new employees.
• Report client complaints to the RN Supervisor.
• Report abnormal findings in client’s conditions as observed and per care plan to RN.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Two years of experience as a Caregiver. Must have CNA license, CNA certificate, PCA, or HHA.
