Job summary

Lutheran SeniorLife is seeking a part-time Caregiver in Butler, PA. The role supports LIFE participants with personal care and instrumental activities, promoting independence and self-care in participants at home and in the community.

Shifts vary; a $6,000 sign-on bonus is offered and pay starts at $17 per hour. Benefits are provided and opportunities to contribute to a broad network of health and social services in western Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1 year related experience and/or training.
• Minimum 1 year experience caregiving for a person with a disability or elderly.
• Valid driver\'s license with reliable transportation to visit clients.
• At least 1 year experience with the frail or elderly.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with personal care activities and promote self-care.

Lutheran SeniorLife provides a comprehensive array of community-based health and social service programs throughout western Pennsylvania.

Our services include LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly); skilled nursing, home health; personal care; adoption & foster care; assisted living; adult day services; memory care; hospice; palliative care; residential living; affordable housing; home safety monitoring; Meals on Wheels; rehabilitation services and private duty.

LIFE is a program that serves county residents living in Armstrong, Butler, Beaver and Lawrence Counties. It is an all-inclusive comprehensive program that helps individuals maintain their independence in their home and community through supportive services. The LIFE programs offer an array of person-centered services from medical care to adult day supports with the primary goal of allowing individuals to remain in their own home.

The Caregiver is responsible for assisting participants with all aspects of personal care activities and implementing strategies for promoting increased levels of self-care when possible. Responsible for assisting participants with Instrumental activities of daily living and implementing strategies for promoting increased levels of independence when possible. Responsible to reinforce and comply with all rehab initiatives and clinical modalities.

Qualifications

Caregiver Home Care qualifications include:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Have a minimum of 1 year of experience providing care to an individual with a disability or support needs commensurate with the participants served in the waiver or related educational experience.
• Must have dependable transportation with a valid driver's license in order to visit clients in their homes and other sites.
• At least one (1) year experience with the frail or elderly.
