Job description

Are you looking for an awesome job where you get to make a difference every day? If so, UCP Oregon might have the perfect job for you!

UCP Oregon is an exciting and empowering place to work. We help adults who experience developmental disabilities to live the life of their dreams—whether that’s living independently, working in a great job, or pursuing their interests and hobbies.

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate caregiver, “Personal Assistant” to support a wonderful man who is experiencing the challenges of aging. He lives in his own home in Gladstone and, while he can no longer get out of bed independently, and needs more support, he has a warm sense of humor and enjoys the company of others.

This position involves helping with daily activities, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and personal care. You'll offer emotional support and help him navigate feelings of frustration or sadness, providing comfort and structure throughout his day. Additionally, you’ll assist with medication management, food tracking, and help him maintain a positive, routine-based environment.

This role requires patience and empathy, as the individual may experience moments of anger or sadness. However, your ability to provide a calm, positive, and supportive presence will make a significant difference in his daily life. If you’re a compassionate and reliable individual who enjoys helping others through challenging times, we would love to have you join our team.

You’ll work two shifts totaling 41 hours per week: Thursdays 7:00p to Fridays 8a and Fridays 3p to Saturdays 7p

*You’ll also work your regular hours on Agency holidays.

  • Experience in the developmental disability field preferred, but not required.
  • $18.00 per hour. Annual wage increase based on satisfactory performance.
  • Eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
  • Holiday pay (double pay for the first 12 hours of any agency holiday shift that you work).
  • Great medical, vision, prescription, and alternative care coverage (including massage therapy and naturopathy) for employee, spouse/domestic partner, and children.
  • 3 weeks of paid time off, rising to 4 weeks after 5 years of service at UCP.
  • Mileage reimbursement if driving for UCP.
