Job summary

Essential Services LLC is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) in Lincoln County, including Newport and Depoe Bay. You’ll provide person-centered care to individuals with developmental disabilities, supporting daily living, community activities, and transportation needs.

The role emphasizes independence, safety, and meaningful engagement. We offer competitive hourly pay, annual increases, plus benefits like health, vision, dental, and retirement match.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior experience as a DSP or in a similar caregiving/support role.
• Available to work weekends.
• Own reliable transportation for transporting clients.
• Valid Driver’s License and current auto insurance (minimum 100k/300k liability).
• Smartphone with internet access for documentation.
• Able to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily tasks such as hygiene, meals, and light housekeeping while encouraging independence.
• Implement goals outlined in the ISP (Individual Support Plan).
• Foster healthy routines and support client development in line with their abilities and interests.
• Accompany clients on outings, appointments, or errands.
• Promote social inclusion by encouraging community interaction and positive relationships.
• Provide safe and reliable transportation using your own vehicle.
• Ensure safety in home and community settings.
• Respond calmly in emergencies and document events for the administrative team.
• Accurately complete required documentation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to assist with lifting, bending, walking, and other physical aspects of caregiving
• Capable of handling behavioral challenges and supporting individuals with higher needs
