Job summary

The Preserve in Mentor, OH is seeking compassionate Caregivers to provide hands-on support and help residents maintain independence. This role covers both full-time and part-time shifts with competitive hourly pay and opportunities for growth.

You will assist with daily living tasks, follow care plans, and advocate for residents, while working in a close-knit team that values dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and able to communicate in English.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to complete required documentation accurately.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

As a Caregiver at The Preserve, you’ll provide hands‑on support while helping residents maintain as much independence as possible.

You’ll:

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, transfers, and other activities of daily living
• Follow individualized resident care plans
• Encourage independence, social interaction, and engagement
• Advocate for residents’ needs, preferences, and choices
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and coworkers
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
• Support household needs including light cleaning, laundry, and meal‑related tasks
• Report changes in resident condition or safety concerns to the appropriate team member

What We’re Looking For

Experience is great, but attitude, reliability, and compassion matter just as much.

Required:

• At least 18 years old
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Ability to assist residents with mobility and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to complete required documentation
• Willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR/AED certification

Preferred:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous senior living, healthcare, or caregiving experience
• Valid driver’s license
