Job summary

Avalon Memory Care in Texas is seeking compassionate caregivers to support residents with daily living activities and dementia-focused care. You will assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility, and medication reminders while following individualized care plans.

Ideal candidates are at least 18, able to lift 50 pounds, pass background checks, and have a positive attitude. CNA preferred but not required; benefits include competitive pay and insurance.

Qualifications

• Must have patience and understanding to care for residents with dementia
• Criminal background check clearance required
• Immunizations documented
• Must be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate
• Experience with seniors preferred; CNA preferred but not required
• Able to lift, carry, push and pull 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, bathroom)
• Implement and support resident care plans
• Assist with transferring residents (e.g., bed to wheelchair)
• Maintain clean living areas (home, bedrooms, kitchen, laundry)
• Provide medication reminders and assist with taking medications
• Adhere to Alcohol and Drug Free workplace policy
• Other duties as required

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating and restroom assistance.
• Implement and support the resident care plans
• Assisting some residents in transferring from one place to another (example: bed to wheelchair)
• Caregivers provide a clean home for the residents which include ensuring the home, bedrooms, kitchen and laundry are cleaned according to schedule.
• Caregivers will provide medication assistance to residents by reminding the resident’s to take their medications, helping the resident open their medication, and observing that the resident took their medication.
• Adhere to the Alcohol and Drug Free workplace policy
• Other duties as required
