Meadowview of Johnston, a Cassia community in Johnston, IA, is hiring a Caregiver (CNAs, HHAs, or PCAs) to assist residents in daily living and will pass medications as prescribed. The position is on-call with shifts 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM at 5555 Pioneer Parkway, Johnston, IA 50131.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNA, HHA, PCA or CMA is required.
• Experience passing medications is required.
• Passion for geriatric care is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and social skills are vital for teamwork and family interactions.
• Good customer service instincts are important when communicating with residents, families and visitors.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities and personal care.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the RN per care plan.
• Take and record vital signs and report changes to the nurse.
• Document services on the charting system.
• Observe residents and report changes in condition to supervisor.
• Assist with personal care and medication administration as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

As a Caregiver at Meadowview of Johnston, you will join our team of professional caregivers to become an important part of our residents' lives. We are seeking people who are team players and who are also comfortable working independently.

Caregiver Responsibilities

• Help each resident reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence while assisting them with personal care and daily living activities.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per individualized care plan.
• Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration as instructed. Report changes or concerns to the nurse.
• Document services performed on computerized charting system.
• Observe resident and report any changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, reaction, and appetite, to the supervisor.
• Assist the resident with personal care which may include the following: shampooing of hair, assist with showering/ bathing, fingernail and foot care, and medication administration.
• Perform additional tasks as needed.

Caregiver Qualifications

• Previous Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Attendant (PCA), or Certified Medication Aide (CMA)experience required.
• Med passing experience.
• Apassion for geriatric care.
• Strong interpersonal and social skills are vital.
• Good customer service instincts will be important in interacting with family members and visitors.
• Must be 18 years or older.
