Job summary

BrightCare HomeCare seeks a compassionate caregiver or CNA to provide high-quality in-home care for clients, with emphasis on dementia and behavioral needs. The role requires experience using a Hoyer Lift and comfort handling challenging behaviors.

You will assist with personal care, mobility, meals, and safety, while following care plans and ensuring effective communication with families and the care team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience with dementia or behavioral issue clients.
• CNA license preferred.
• Experience using a Hoyer Lift is required.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work every other weekend.
• Must pass background check and provide professional references.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Assist clients with mobility and transfers using a Hoyer Lift or other assistive devices safely and correctly.
• Monitor and document changes in client condition or behavior, and report concerns promptly to supervisors or healthcare providers.
• Support clients with dementia and behavioral issues, utilizing patience, redirection, and de-escalation techniques.
• Prepare meals, assist with feeding as needed, and encourage fluid and food intake.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for clients.
• Engage clients in activities that promote emotional and physical well-being.
• Follow care plans and medication reminders as directed.
• Communicate effectively with family members, supervisors, and other care team members.
