Job summary

Piedmont Crossing, a not-for-profit continuing care community in Davidson County, NC, is seeking a Caregiver (CNA) for full-time shifts at the Thomasville location. The role supports residents with daily living activities under a nurse's supervision.

The caregiver builds relationships to enhance residents' psychosocial well-being, plans social activities, and assists with household tasks and laundry while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three months experience in basic nursing procedures.
• Graduate of state approved CNA program; competency evaluated and registered.
• Cross training for household activities, social service, housekeeping, and laundry.
• Food handling certification (ServSafe or equivalent) desired.
• Minimum age 18 years due to DoL regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical care to residents to meet daily needs and enable independent function.
• Act as residents’ advocate under supervision of a professional nurse.
• Promote residents' psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationships.
• Plan and facilitate social activities for residents in the household.
• Support household homemaker with maintaining a clean, safe environment and personal laundry.
• Comply with current standards, guidelines and regulations for CNA duties.

Caregiver (CNA):

Shifts Available:

2nd shift Monday-Friday (3p-11p)

Baylor Saturday/Sunday 7a-7p and Monday 7a-3p

The caregiver provides physical care to the residents of the household to meet their daily needs and enable them to function at the highest possible level. While this care is provided under the leadership of a professional nurse, the caregiver is the residents’ closest advocate in the household. The caregiver promotes the residents' psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationship building and works with the household team to meet other social service needs of the resident and of the household, always providing support, friendship and kindness for each of the household members. The caregiver plans and facilitates social activities for residents of the household which provide meaningful ways to spend time as recreation, exercise, relationship building and fun. The caregiver also supports the household homemaker in maintaining a clean safe household environment and in caring for the resident’s personal laundry. All caregiver tasks are performed in accordance with current standards, guidelines and regulations and in a safe and efficient manner.

Minimal Education:

High School graduate or GED required.

Minimal Experience:

Minimum of three (3) months work
experience in basic nursing procedures for nursing assistants.

Other Qualifications:

Graduate of a state approved program for nursing assistants. Competency evaluated, tested, and registered with the state.

Completion of cross training for household activities, household social service, household
housekeeping, household laundry required. Completion of cross training for household homemaking, including food
service and food handling (ServSafe or equivalent) desired.

Will comply with all federal and state regulatory requirements to maintain
certification and active registry as CNA required.

Completion of requirements to maintain food handling certification (ServSafe or
equivalent) desired.

Minimum age of 18 years or older is required for this position due to Department of
Labor regulations.
