Responsibilities
- Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents, including showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
- Assist with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.).
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Assist with physical therapy exercises.
- Complete client shopping or accompany them to do so.
- Perform housekeeping duties.
- Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
- Assist patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks as necessary.
Qualifications
- Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting; eager to improve and learn new skills.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job duties.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation daily.
- Compassionate and supportive manner.
- Available to work different shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care.
- Willing to enforce health and safety standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; experience as a Caregiver, CNA, or HHA, or completion of a CNA program.
- Supportive and compassionate attitude.
- Hoyer Lift experience (specific to client).
