Job summary

Avamere Communities is seeking a compassionate caregiver for our Avamere at Sandy location. This Part-Time/On-Call role covers all shifts with weekend availability, focusing on ADLs, emotional support, and resident safety.

Responsibilities include bathing, mobility assistance, meal prep, companionship, housekeeping, and health monitoring. Prior memory care or assisted living experience is preferred; CPR/First Aid and Food Handler’s Card are required during employment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Caregiver in Memory Care or Assisted Living preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required during employment.
• Ability to obtain Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility support, and meal setup/clearance.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Perform housekeeping tasks and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Monitor residents' health, report concerns, and advocate for residents' well-being.
• Support orientation of new residents and staff when assigned; perform other duties as needed.

Caregiver-Assisted Living

Type: Part-Time/On-Call (PRN) Shift/Schedule: On-Call, All shifts available, Weekend availability needed Wage: $18.58-$24.24/hr DOE

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, includingassisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene:Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance:Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation:Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support:Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship:Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
