Job summary

Bickford Senior Living is hiring a Caregiver Assistant in Battle Creek, MI. You will support residents with daily living activities, meals, and social engagement, following individualized care plans and communicating with branch leadership as needs change.

Qualified applicants hold a high school diploma or GED and are willing to obtain CNA certification within six months, with CPR/First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain them.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Willing to complete Certified Nurse Aide course within six months.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities with good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Know the residents you serve and provide care based on service plans.
• Assist in daily living activities, meals, and social engagement.
• Communicate changes in resident needs with branch leadership.
• Provide care for residents with dementia using appropriate approaches.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Willing to complete CNA course within six months

CPR and First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Know the residents you serve, providing care based on their service plans.
• Assist in all aspects of a resident’s daily life, including activities of daily living, meal service, and social engagement.
• Appropriately communicate with branch clinical leadership when a resident’s needs change.
• Knowledge of how to approach and care for residents with dementia.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or one-year related experience.
• Willing to successfully complete the Certified Nurse Aide course within six months of hire.
• Willing to take additional training or education, which specific states may require.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication.
• Competent in organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
