Job summary

The Lodge in California is seeking a PRN Care Partner to provide compassionate companionship and assist residents with daily activities. You will support mobility, grooming, meals, and hydration while ensuring safety and emotional well-being.

This on-call/flexible role requires strong communication and the ability to document changes, report concerns, and work closely with the Health Services Director to maintain a high standard of resident care.

## Description**POSITION SUMMARY****PRN - as needed, or on call.**PRN team members provide flexible coverage to help meet staffing needs, including covering open shifts, vacations, and unexpected absences. This is a great opportunity for someone who values flexibility, teamwork, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors while providing quality, person-centered care and companionship.The Care Partner (AL) assists Assisted Living residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provides companionship to ensure an inclusive living environment.**RESPONSIBILITIES**Include but are not limited to the following:* Provides companionship to residents of the Assisted Living facility to promote emotional well-being.* Assists residents with ADLs tailored to the individual needs of each resident.* Report all incidents/accidents/potential liabilities to Health Services Director and participate in required post incident shift huddles when requested. Monitors and reports any changes to residents' health.* Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship; assist Life Enrichment Director as needed.* Assist with grooming before meals, serve meals while aiding with eating and drinking, and verify resident's identification prior to serving. Monitor the dining room, as necessary.* Maintain resident documentation, charting required information, including any resident changes. Add appropriate residents to Alert Charting.* Assists with personal hygiene, mobility, toileting, meals, housekeeping, and medication as required per care plan.* Complete all assigned duties, as directed by management or community leadership, adapting to changes in resident needs, staffing and working conditions, as necessary.* Be aware of and report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the Health Services Director or Administrator. Communicate complaints, suggestions, and concerns, as necessary.* Keep supply room and work areas clean.* Supervisory Responsibility: None.## Qualifications**QUALIFICATIONS*** **Education & Experience:**+ Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.+ Previous experience in caregiving or health care settings preferred.* **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**+ Exceptional communication skills in English, enabling effective interaction with residents and staff through both verbal and written means.+ Utilize electronic devices and software provided.+ Understanding of basic healthcare principles/practices, safety & infection control measures.+ Awareness of common health conditions associated with aging such as dementia, arthritis, and mobility issues.+ Understanding essential care procedures such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.+ Ability to provide physical assistance and support to residents with mobility challenges.+ Knowledge of nutritional requirements and hydration needs of the elderly.+ Skilled in noticing changes in residents' physical or emotional condition and reporting to supervisory staff.+ Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documenting observations.+ Capability to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations, with a pleasant demeanor.+ Ability to build trust and rapport with residents and their families.+ Problem-solving abilities to promptly address concerns or complaints, with the ability to quickly pivot from one task to the next.+ Maintain ongoing education and training, attending all departmental & in-staff services as required.
