Responsibilities include helping with transfers, personal care, meal service, light housekeeping and reporting changes to supervisors. The position may involve weekend or holiday work and requires lifting up to 50 pounds and English communication with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Experience working with seniors preferred.
• Must complete required orientation and training before attending to residents.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work independently, as well as with co-workers.
• Effectively communicate with residents and families in English.

• Engages residents in meaningful conversation, socialization and activity while providing personal care assistance.
• Conducts rounds to check on resident needs and responds to resident needs/requests for care promptly.
• Assists in transferring, bathing, dressing, and toiletry needs of residents. Lifting up to 50 lbs is a significant essential function of the job.
• Reports any change of resident condition or concerns to supervisor.
• Light housekeeping of resident rooms, including cleaning up spills or other accidents.
• Escorts residents to dining room for meal services.
• Serves meals to residents in dining room or resident rooms/apartments.
• May launder resident clothing and or bed linens.
• Attends mandatory staff meetings.
• Completes regular training to remain in compliance with State regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Job requires walking and standing for extended periods of time.
• Greets visitors to the community in a professional and friendly manner.
• Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department and safety requirements.
